Abstract

This Final Degree Project (TFG) explains the intervention process in a wallet skin leather binding from the year 1593, containing documentation related to the Bertrolà family, a wealthy family from late 16th-century Barcelona. The book is part of the Parish Archive of Santa Maria del Pi (Miralles III-II-353Bis). The intervention is carried out during the second semester of the fourth year of the Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. First, research is   carried out regarding leather binding with a flexible wallet format finish and Japanese paper.  Subsequently, the intervention process using Japanese paper, which is considered the most appropriate, is explained.
