Abstract

This article evaluates the efficiency of Paraloid® B72, one of the most frequently used products to protect the surface of fossil remains during cleaning or chemical preparation treatments using weak acids. This product is one of the most recommended acrylic resins in recent literature, despite there being no studies to assess its effectiveness. For this study, a test was carried out on palaeontological remains protected with this resin and the results proved positive.
