Abstract

Foxing is an alteration which is still subject to numerous hypotheses. Its origins, formation mechanisms, and agents of deterioration can be caused by multiple factors. In the study that was carried out during this final degree project, the research of foxing is based on nine lithographs created by Josep Maria Subirachs in the late 20th century. The analytical tests conducted gave an insight into the description and characterization of foxing. They also allowed us to establish a treatment based on the use of a chelating agent for the long-term conservation of these prints
