Abstract

The photographic album studied in this work, held in the collection of the Museu Marítim de Barcelona, contains a series of images taken by photographer Antonio Calvo during the 1950s. Developed within the framework of a Master's Final Project, this study focuses on the historical contextualization of the photographic reportage and the conservation of the album as an inseparable unit. Based on the technical and condition
analysis, a respectful intervention proposal was designed and carried out, preserving both the original materials and the visual narrative. The project is completed with the digitization of the album, thorough documentation of the process, and the implementation of preventive conservation measures,
all aimed at ensuring the long-term preservation and dissemination of this testimony to maritime trade in the port of Valencia.
