Abstract

Human anatomical models played a key role in the development of medicine between the 18th and 20th centuries, in the same way scale models did for architecture and cartography for geography. This article (based on a final degree project), which focusses on their constituent materials and evolution over time, has been written with the aim of drawing attention to and
improving the conservation of these items. At the same time, based on some of the existing collections in Catalonia, it was possible to identify some of the conserved materials and to evaluate their cataloguing and state of conservation.
