The Collection of Mutoscope and Kinora Rolls of the Museu del Cinema - Col·lecció Tomàs Mallol: Study of Identification and Restoration of the Collection and the Digitalization and Animation of One Roll.

Abstract

This study is an approach to the mutoscope and kinora rolls using copies from the Tomàs Mallols collection preserved in the Museu del Cinema de Catalunya. After identifying and analysing the rolls, a preservation-restoration procedure was proposed and undertaken, as was the later digitalization and animation of one of the rolls to increase awareness of the material and, at the same time, promote the collection.
