Abstract

The Naveta des Tudons is part of the exceptional prehistoric monumental complex of Menorca and is considered the most important construction in Balearic prehistory and one of the oldest preserved buildings in Europe. In March 2018, the monument was the victim of an unprecedented vandalic act in Menorca: 88 graffiti made with black spray that affected 81 of the stone blocks that are part of the building. For the removal of the graffiti, a cleaning system was designed following the aqueous working methodology with buffer solutions, chelators, gels and emulsions without surfactant. Richard Wolbers.
