Abstract

Raising awareness about conservation by means of an interview helped to establish, when viewed together (Conservationist-Artist), preventive conservation strategies in the creative output of the artist Coco Guzmán. She defined her views on deterioration, thus contributing to decision making in matters of conservation. This paper shows how this work might be of benefit in the practice of both professions. The opportunity to include queer perspectives and the voice of the artist helps to establish active preventive conservation strategies.
