Restoration of the Gargoyles at La Llotja de Mercaders in Palma de Mallorca (2008-2020). Review of the process of extraction of soluble salts (2010-2020).

Abstract

The following study is a review and synopsis of the restoration carried out on the sculptural ensemble of gargoyles on the Gothic civic building, the Llotja de Mercaders, a work by Guillem Sagrera, in the city of Palma (Mallorca). The year 2020 marks the tenth year of this restoration and, taking advantage of the occasion, documentary research was carried out to provide information on one of the processes carried out on the sculptural set of gargoyles: the extraction of soluble salts.
