Preserving Graphic Design. Protocol for the Inclusion of a Portfolio in the Collection of Graphic Design at the Museu del Disseny in Barcelona.

Abstract

Since 2007, the Museu del Disseny in Barcelona has been creating a Collection of Graphic Design from the XX and XXI centuries and is continually adding to its stock. This increase has been made possible by ensuring that the pieces are properly preserved and to do this it was necessary to establish good intervention criteria in the field of preventative preservation. For the Final Project of the Post Graduate Degree in Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage a study of the procedures to be followed when these portfolios were included was undertaken with the aim of establishing a protocol for inclusion, details of which are presented in this paper.
